Connectwise Automate Plugin Highlights For April 2017

Plugin of the Month

The Plugin of the Month goes out to Stalled Agents Detector

The Connectwise Automate plugin Stalled Agents Detector was designed to monitor agents that were showing offline in either Labtech or ScreenConnect or where agents shows excessive executing commands in Labtech. These were signs that Labtech agents were experiencing some issues and needed assistance from the MSP to recover. We built this tool to allow MSP the ability to uses tools at their hands to resolve agent issues without the need for direct intervention.  Since it's release it has been downloaded over 1200 times making it our Plugin of the Month.

What's Changed...

We have had some great updates to Chocolatey for Labtech plugin recently.

We added a new tab in the Client View, Install Issues shows you the applications and the systems that are having trouble at the client level allowing you to clear the counters and allow automation the ability to re attempt installs. We added features for auto updates to select whether or not to force the updates. In previous versions we just forced this setting which caused bandwidth issues for larger agent deployments on slower networks.
Updated the auto plugin updater to work with new services. We added a feature to automated services to check systems for excessive executing commands first and to abort if found. Updates to the Choco Versions Graph were made to exclude any non numerical data received during version queries. This was causing Java pop up errors from time to time for some people.

Surflog has also received some updates over the last month to include a updated collection script and a new build of the collection engine. Anyone using Surflog should make sure they are using the latest versions of the software currently at build 1.1.5.6. This latest build runs faster and more efficient then ever before.

What's New...

This is our news plugin added to the family, Linux update manager plugin allows a MSP to manage the updates for common linux systems from within LabTech / Connectwise Automate. This makes a wonderful assistant to a MSP who may otherwise not have the in house skill set needed for more advanced management of Linux system or for those who are looking for a simpler means to manage consistently the Linux systems the have under management.

What's Coming...

The P4A team is always working to bring you the best tech available for your MSP. This month we are working on releasing a new build of Office365 that will include some new feature requests from our subscriber base. We are talking with Piriform about the next round of updates to the popular CCleaner for Labtech plugin and we have updates in the pipeline for several of our plugins. Patch remedy will be getting ready for the next major build of Windows 10 and we will be adding more functions to the Linux Update Manager.
